SENSING, home performance, Berlin, 2022

The human experience on earth collectively changes through time.
Our present century challenges our beings to their cores.
Digitalization and Capitalization unmask themselves more and more as troublemakers rather than helping hands.
The very human for me is a sensual figure, equipped with marvelous traits,
that allow to feel, to sense, to breath in life and feel it.
The capacity of feeling is an inner compass, a guide to what our mind and body needs.
Overconsumption broke the human compass and it keeps breaking it.
Simplified and harshly spoken, these developments endanger the life of every species on this planet.

We all know it. Sometimes we talk about it, sometimes we don’t.
It is something that is more than obvious, it follows us everywhere we go.
We can never fully ignore it and yet that’s what we are doing most of the time.

Our senses are what enables us to feel. Somehow there is a common understanding that there are 5, but also that can vary and isn’t true for everyone. But every human is somehow capable of feeling; and feelings get triggered by senses. The way every individual approaches their feelings is a different story.

SENSING presents 5 senses in a performative way, that allows the public to sense how the performer senses. It is an insight to the senses of the performer. An exemplary teaser to the way senses can work and what they can mean to a person who assigns extremely high importance to her senses.

If we as individuals share deeper insights about how the interior of humans (can) work, we could possibly achieve a coexistence, that is less blinded from the structures that suppress human nature.

Reduction instead of overflow is the only way that we can refocus.
